In January 2013, Joan became a Partner of FRSCPA, PLLC. Joan is a graduate of the University of South Florida College of Business Administration with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. Joan obtained her Florida CPA license in 1998 and her North Carolina license in 2005, when she moved to North Carolina to expand the firm by opening the second location of FRSCPA, PLLC.
Joan’s practice and expertise is franchise accounting and taxation, specifically with an emphasis on the McDonald’s franchisees. Joan is an affiliate member of the W.O.N. (Women’s Operator Network) and is a frequent speaker on taxation strategies at various regional events. She is also an active participant at the annual NFCA (National Franchise Consultants + Accountants) business meeting.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s.
Joan is active as a volunteer at her daughters’ school and is also a member of the Red Shoe Society at the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. She currently lives in Durham, North Carolina with her husband Mark and their daughters Jillian and Marissa.
